Руководитель раскопок доцент Айтач Кошкун сказал, что лампы, скорее всего, относятся к римскому периоду и дают больше информации об истории замка.
Кошкун отметил, что местом, где были обнаружены артефакты, мог быть древний магазин. На каждой лампе есть разные знаки, в том числе солнце, звезды или буквы.
Лампы были найдены возле подземного храма Митры, возведенного 1700 лет назад в период римской эпохи, который был обнаружен в 2017 году.

Зерзеванский замок когда-то служил военным укреплением и был свидетелем военных столкновений между римлянами и сасанидами. Он расположен на площади в шесть гектаров и окружен стенами высотой от 12 до 15 м и длиной 1200 м, включающими 21-метровую сторожевую башню.
Стены замка были отремонтированы во времена византийского императора Анастасия (491-518) и Юстиниана (527-565), а некоторые части были полностью перестроены.
На огромном пространстве находятся церковь, административные здания, руины древних домов, хранилища зерна и оружия, подземный храм и укрытия, скальные гробницы и водные каналы.
